Weighted Cells

(Published on 12. November 2024, 19:55 by Oddlyeven)

Rules: Normal Sudoku rules apply. Put the digits 1 to 9 once each into every row, column and 3x3 box.
Fog: The grid is partially covered in fog. Placing correct digits will clear the fog from surrounding cells.
Weighted Cells: One cell in each row, column and box is lighter than normal. Lighter cells have a value equal to half of their digit. Each digit from 1 to 9 appears once in the set of lighter cells.
One cell in each row, column and box is heavier than normal. Heavier cells have a value equal to one and a half times their digit. Each digit from 1 to 9 appears once in the set of heavier cells.
No cell is both lighter and heavier.
Region Sum Lines: The sum of the values on a line within a box must be the same for each box that line passes through. If a line passes through a box more than once, each time it passes through counts separately. Lines do not branch, cross or share cells.

I loved this puzzle. The heavy and light cells are different enough from the commonly used doublers that they led to different kinds of deductions.

Fantastic! (Wanting to double aside.)
The final disambiguation made me laugh out loud, cheeky and clever.

How many times did I double my hot digits instead of one and a half them. Stupid me.
Great FOW anyway.
