Counter-Clockwise Chaos Construction

(Published on 8. November 2024, 04:32 by sfushidahardy)

You guessed it, another sightline chaos construction! But this time the clues rotate. I hope you enjoy it!

  • Chaos Construction: divide the grid into regions, each consisting of orthogonally connected cells, and fill each row, column, and region with the digits 1 to 9 once each.
  • Rotating clues: a digit N on a cell with arrows rotates the cell by N/8th of a revolution, counterclockwise. (See example image of valid clues)
  • Sightline arrows: the digit in a cell with arrows is the total number of cells belonging to the same region seen in all indicated directions (including itself). Entering different regions obstructs this vision.

Hopefully this example will clarify any confusions about the rules:

Solve Counter-Clockwise Chaos Construction on Sudokupad!

Solution code: The digits in row 4 with a forward-slash at region-borders. (For example, 123/45/6789.)

For some reason after solving this puzzle I have the song "You Spin My Head Right Round" stuck in my head :)

Oh wow, this was an incredibly interesting puzzle! Wrapping my head around the rotating arrows took some time, and even then i kept getting it wrong. Eventually getting the regions marked felt like a huge accomplishment.

Very fun ! Interesring to see the restrictions with the clues you picked. And a bonus point for the easy CC resolution at the end. Thanks :)
