Where the Wild Things Are

(Published on 25. October 2024, 10:56 by starwarigami)

Normal Sudoku Rules Apply

Within a cage digits must not repeat, and their values must sum to a whole number, which is equal to the number in the top left corner of the cage if given.

In every row, column and box there is a single wild card cell, and each digit appears in a wild card cell exactly once.
A wild card cell applies two modifiers to the contained digit, one from each of the two groups below.
One group corresponds to the digit's entropy set ({123},{456},{789}) and the other to the digit's modularity set ({147},{258},{369})
- which group is which, and which modifier corresponds to which set is to be determined by the solver.

Group 1:
  • 1a: The value of the wild digit is half its face value.
  • 1b: The wild digit must be in a 2:1 ratio with at least two of its orthogonal neighbours.
  • 1c: The wild digit must have the opposite parity (odd/even) to all its orthogonal neighbours.
Group 2:
  • 2a: The values of all the orthogonal neighbours of the wild digit are double their face value.
  • 2b: The wild digit must be consecutive with at least two of its orthogonal neighbors.
  • 2c: The wild digit must be less than all its orthogonal neighbours.
