Zodiac Project: Sagittarius

(Published on 10. October 2024, 22:16 by MaizeGator)

I am honored to present the 14th chapter of the Zodiac Project, initiated by ViKingPrime. This installment continues the Zodiac sign/constellation theming established in the previous chapter, Christounet’s brilliant “Gemini.”

For my puzzle, I chose the centaur-archer Sagittarius, who is a powerful symbol of exploration, knowledge, and aim. Known for their adventurous spirit and precise focus, Sagittarians constantly seek new frontiers. Just like the Archer’s steady hand and sharp eye, solving this Sudoku puzzle requires accuracy, determination, and a keen sense of logic. Every number must find its perfect spot, much like Sagittarius shooting for their target. Dive into this challenge and see if your problem-solving skills can match the focus of the celestial Archer!

RULES:

  • Irregular Sudoku: Place the digits 1-9 once each into every row, column, and region.

  • Standard Arrows: Digits along an arrow (purple) must sum to the digit in the attached circle.

  • Disjoint: The nine arrow circles consist of a complete set of the digits 1-9, without repeats.

  • Renban: Digits on a pink line form a non-repeating, consecutive sequence.

The grid looked quite intimidating at first glance but this was utterly approachable and a great take on irregular sudoku! loved the theming, loved the logic. A superb addition to the series.

Great puzzle! The break-in especially was amazing, and I'm even more amazed that you could make this without choosing the locations of the disjoint cells yourself. I'm looking forward to making the next puzzle in the series!

Thank you for this fantastic Zodiac puzzle, MaizeGator! Quite hard, but fantastic flow once I got a first grip. I loved the use of the disjoint.
