Rotational Differences (5x5)

(Published on 9. October 2024, 16:47 by Jolly Rogers)

RULES:

  • Place the digits from 1 to 5 exactly once in every row and column.
  • Galaxies: Divide the grid into non-overlapping groups of orthogonally connected cells. Each group contains a red diamond and is 180° rotationally symmetric around the diamond.
  • Wormhole: Exactly one cell in the grid is a 'wormhole' and is not part of any galaxy. The location of the wormhole must be deduced by the solver.
  • Rotational Differences: Within a Galaxy, cells rotated 180° from each other must differ in value by the digit in their red diamond.
  • Thermometer: Digits along a thermometer increase from bulb to tip.

Wound up having to do a little bit of guessing, but luckily my feeling that the "guesses" I was checking were wrong was correct.
Very fun rule thing! I kinda wish the Galaxy part was harder, but I suspect that would make the sudoku section nigh-impossible.
