A Visit to the Museum (Palindrome/Numbered Room Hybrid)

"Please follow the direction to visit the museum."
But it seems that exhibits reappear along the way...
(The text is irrelevant to the actual puzzle.)
Rules:
- Normal Sudoku rules apply. Place the digits 1 through 9 in each empty cell. Digits must not repeat within the same row, column, or box.
- Numbered rooms: A clue outside the grid indicates the digit which has to be placed in the Nth cell in the corresponding direction, where N is the digit placed in the first cell in that direction. Numbers can freely repeat outside the 9*9 sudoku.
- Palindrome: Digits along the red line read the same forwards or backwards.
- Inequalities: An inequality sign points to the smaller of the two adjacent digits.

I recommend that you mark numbered room clues at the corner/center so as not to interfere with the inner grid in sudokupad.

okay the puzzle itself... very nice,
(column 6/ row 4.. that's mean.. fell for that twice!!love it)
but not having the sudokupad app be able to verify (fails w/o the numbered room clues as well) is a real PITA... I was so close in starting over (or rather giving up since this was my third attempt already and couldn't find any flaw in my result) until I just tryed entering the nrc... and it worked.
But that really p'd me off, took all the joy from this solve.
So yeah, nice puzzle I really liked it, but TERRIBLE puzzle experience.
At the very least you could've put a warning in the description that the solution check will fail.

Sorry for your terrible solving experience! I just couldn't find a way to prevent numbered rooms from interfering with the inner grid in penpa. After all, you can mark numbered rooms at the corner/center. The rule in sudokupad notes the failure of solution check, so I don't find it necessary to mention it here.

well "no solution check" doesn't mean that the check will FAIL on a correct solve (well not in many other puzzles before that is, even with additional cells it worked leaving those empty [filled with small or corner markings p.e])
I think it deserves a warning that a correct grid will still fail either way.
There is NO mentioning of solution failing in the sudokupad app rules just "there is no solution check" which again means something different most of the time.

This was one of the best numbered room puzzles for me. The interaction of the clues was amazing.
