Cruel-sum Samurai (Duality lines, Mean minis, 6x6 Samurai)

(Published on 21. September 2024, 18:53 by AnalyticalNinja )

I initially created just one mean mini grid, but couldn't find a way to resolve it that I was quite satisfied with, so I ended up turning it into a samurai sudoku. Please enjoy! XD

Rules:

Mean Mini:Each of the overlapping 6x6 grids contain exactly 6 digits from 1-9 to be placed within the rows, columns, and boxes without repeating. Not all grids will use the same set of digits.
Region sum lines: ALL of the lines in this puzzle are region sum lines, and contain the same sum within each box the line passes through.

Additionally, these rules apply:
German whisper lines: Adjacent digits along the bright green lines must differ by at least 5.
Renban lines: Purple lines must contain a non-repeating string of consecutive digits.
Entropy lines: Every set of three consecutive cells along the peach lines must contain a low [123], middle [456], and high [789] digit.
Modular lines: Every set of three consecutive digits along the dark green lines must contain a different residue mod 3. [147][258][369]
Palindrome: The grey line is a palindrome and reads the same from either direction.

Solution code: The top row of the completed grid followed by the bottom row of the completed grid. (24 digits total)

Very fun and cool puzzle. Really enjoyed all the jumping between different grids and how the different sections all came together. Nice varieties of logic in the outer grids as well.

Really hard to break in when you don't remember the region sum rule!! After that it was a fun tour around the boxes finding their own unique deductions and then touring back to clean up with what you learned.

The center box is a chef kiss on how it all links together.

I kept forgetting the region sum rule and made it harder for me.

Lovely solve. Wide variety of logic, and never got stuck. Was constantly wondering how it'd be possible for something to resolve, but there was always something new :)

It's funny how this went from a 5-star puzzle to a comfortable 3-star puzzle the moment I remembered the region-sum rule. >.< Gorgeous puzzle!

Pure elegance through and through, and such a treat to have had this one as my initiation to Modular lines. I was a bit wary of this one at first because of that, but the way these lines and setup as a whole play like a pinball machine, always giving points in the process, made the whole thing so much fun I didn’t even notice if I had any trouble or not at any point XD Superb work!
