Duck-Duck-Goose [Disjoint]

(Published on 16. September 2024, 16:18 by meggen033)

This is another somewhat approachable disjoint puzzle (if there is such a thing). Check out my precious "approachable" disjoint puzzles:

1.) It takes 3 to Tango

2.) Celsius 417

3.) Two Way Street

4.) I'm a Frayed Knot

5.) Low Rider

6.) Disjoint Mechanic

7.) Empty Boxes

8.) Dislocated Strands

9.) XV Circles

10.) One Disjoint Pilgrimage

11.) 3 Dots and a Disjoint Killer

• Normal Sudoku rules apply.

• Disjoint Set: Cells in the same relative position in different boxes cannot contain the same digits.

• Digits in a cage do not repeat and sum to the clue in the top left.

• A black dot between cells indicates cell values with a 2:1 ratio. A white dot between cells indicates cells with consecutive values. Not all dots are shown.

• Adjacent cells connected with a X must sum to 10.

Thank you for this fun puzzle, meggen033! I completely agree with your assessment of difficulty. The break-in made it a 2 stars for me. Anyhow, the puzzle had a superb flow once I got going. Thank you for setting and sharing!

To me, it's not so much difficulty that makes me go "eurgh" at disjoint (if anything, it's one of the simplest rulesets that solely requires scanning).
I go "eurgh" if it's a lot of times I actually NEED TO scan it, and if there's no clear pointers that's the next thing to check.
I personally like them most when it IS used to simply clean up the last few digits, rather than needing to check it constantly the whole way through.
Hopefully that's useful feedback for your further disjoint puzzles!

1 star puzzle for me. Tricky break in but quite obvious. Soft disjoint enforcement here as it is used mainly for disambiguating

Straightforward once I spotted the break in.Great puzzle!

I'm starting this out at 2 stars for difficulty as I think that is about right for the break-in, however the rest of the puzzle should flow into a 1-star difficulty puzzle. Let me know how you got on and what you would rate the puzzle. Cheers!
