Solitary Nines

Rules:
  • Normal sudoku rules apply.
  • Colourful Dots - Cells on either side of purple dots sum to 9 and cells on either side of red dots sum to 6. All dots are not necessarily given.
  • Kropki Dots - Cells on either side of a white dot must be consecutive.
  • Solitary Nines - 9s cannot be orthogonally adjacent to 8s
  • Honorary Nines - Given 6s are treated as 9s for the Solitary Nines rule

It might only be 1 star for difficulty but my testers thought it might just be into 2 stars so I'll set it to that to start with. Enjoy!

Solution code: Solution code is the 6th column (from top to bottom, 9 digits)

I'd say it's a slightly more difficult 1 star, or an easy 2 star :)

I got stuck with a deadly pattern near the end and didn't notice the 8 touching one of the pairs for a while...

If you got a deadly pattern across r7 and r8 look around for 8s

Perhaps the rule about the honorary nines is a bit awkward, but so far quite smooth solve
