A Song of Twice and Higher (or Lower)
(Published on 13. September 2024, 22:00 by ViKingPrime)
PUZZLE:
RULES:
Normal Sudoku rules apply.
White dots separate two cells containing consecutive values; Black dots separate two cells where one is double the other [1:2].
Shade some cells so that all shaded cells are orthogonally connected and all unshaded cells are orthogonally connected.
Each 2x2 area of the grid contains shaded and unshaded cells.
The value of a shaded cell is one more than its digit. The value of an unshaded cell is one less than its digit.
INTRODUCTION:
This puzzle was meant to be a showcase of my style as a setter, as part of an Imposter-style challenge... except it didn't win, which means this puzzle is less my style than something set by someone else.
I'm going to take that away and reflect on that far longer than is healthy, hopefully returning as a more well-rounded setter (though it's good to know that even now, I don't fit neatly into a box).
Have fun!
