(Published on 12. September 2024, 01:51 by heliopolix )
PUZZLE:
RULES:
"Normal"
Schrödinger rules apply
(
i.e. place the digits 0 through 9 once each in every row, column and box;
two of the digits will have to share a Schrödinger Cell;
each row, column and box contains exactly one Schrödinger Cell).
Normal
Minesweeper (odd),
Zipper (
purple),
Nabner (
gold),
Killer,
Kropki and
X/V rules apply
(
each circled digit counts exactly how many how many of the surrounding digits in the grid, including itself, are odd;
other clues consider the sum total of a cell;
Zipper centers marked with dots;
digits may not repeat within Killer cages;
lines only move orthogonally;
disconnected lines within the same cell indicate two separate lines).
MODIFIERS:
•
Fog-of-War: The grid is partially covered in fog; placing correct digits in non-Schrödinger cells will clear the fog from the surrounding area.
•
Two Truths and a Lie: Each of the above standard clue types occurs exactly three times in the grid; for each, exactly two of the appearances of that clue are correct and the other is incorrect.
INTRODUCTION:
Recently,
Scojo and
Hatgurl organized a setting challenge where setters created a pair of puzzles - one in their own style, and one "secret imposter" puzzle in the style of another participant. The setter-imposter pairs were chosen at random by the organizers, ensuring that each setter was impersonated by someone else. Each puzzle had to be set within a single week, and the person I got to masquerade as was
ViKingPrime.
This puzzle was inspired by his Fog-of-War puzzle, "
What Lies Beyond the Fog". If you haven't yet, you should tackle that one first. That one has been described by some solvers as "the hardest Fog-of-War" puzzle ever, a title which I'm hoping this one wholesomely, shamelessly steals.
Here are some puzzles from other setters using the same constraint:
"
Two Truths and a Lie"

"
Call My Bluff"

Being maliciously given a low score is really the fate that Fow Puzzle cannot escape…

I love that copying the setter's LMD landing page style has also become part of this project! Stunning impersonation with not only a remarkably VKP set up, but full of beautifully VKP logic!
