Schrödinger 303: S-Duality

(Published on 9. September 2024, 17:30 by ViKingPrime)

PUZZLE:

RULES:

"Normal" Schrödinger rules apply.
(i.e. place the digits 0 through 7 once each in every row, column and region;
two of the digits will have to share a Schrödinger Cell;
each row and column -
but not necessarily region - contains exactly one Schrödinger Cell;
the value of a cell is the sum of the digits it contains
).

Kropki: White dots separate two cells containing consecutive values (not all dots are given).
Givens: Numbers in the grid are given digits.

MODIFIERS:

Chaos Construction: Divide the grid into 7 regions of orthogonally connected cells (regions may have different sizes).
The value in a Circle is equal to the number of S-cells in its region (all Circles are given).

Yin-and-Yang: Shade some cells such that all shaded cells are orthogonally connected and all unshaded cells are orthogonally connected.
No 2x2 area may be fully shaded or fully unshaded. Diamonds are a boundary between shaded and unshaded.
The value in a Square is equal to the number of cells in its region matching its own shading (or unshading) (all Squares are given).

INTRODUCTION:

This puzzle was not made by gdc but may as well have been... this was part of Scojo's most recent setting prompt where setters were required to imitate another setter's style.

Let me know if you can tell the difference!

Great and challenging puzzle; definitely helped to have familiarized myself with the way S-cells and chaos region construction rules interact in gdc's puzzle. That plus yin yang, well - I didn't think it would work but it did! Loved the given digits especially, odd as that may be :)

Very nice follow up to quantum chaos. Excellent job imitating me and bold choice to do so with my recent S-cells madness :)
