Coordination Problems
(Published on 23. August 2024, 11:37 by juggler)
In all puzzles, normal 4x4 Sudoku rules apply.
Line Rules:
- Renban: Digits on the line form a consecutive non-repeating set
- Same Difference: Consecutive digits on the line always have the same difference
- Thermo: Digits increase from the bulb end

1. Good Coordination
LINES - Each line obeys *exactly
one* line rule (the lines could obey the same rule).
COORDINATES - Read from the bulb end, XYZ on a line indicates that row X column Y is Z.
2. Bad Coordination
LINES - Draw a straight 3-cell line eminating from each bulb (they might overlap).
Each line obeys *exactly
two* of the line rules (the lines could obey the same rules).
FAULTY COORDINATES - Read from the bulb end, XYZ on a line indicates row X column Y is
*not* Z. The lines cannot refer to the same cell.
3. Coordinated Coordination
LINES - Each line obeys *exactly
one* line rule (different lines could obey the same rule).
MUTUAL COORDINATES - Read from the bulb end, XYZ on a line indicates that row X column Y is Z in the *other* grid.

Quite interesting challenges for such tiny grids! At one point I thought it might require too much trial and error, but then I realized with some thought the possibilities can be narrowed down.

Super original (and kind of tricky) set of little puzzles – even as I realize I’m late to the Coordinate Lines/Thermos party. Funnily enough, the “ambiguity” is almost a subverted trope in these. Kudos on your amazing creativity! (Love the title too XD)
