Getting The Room Number

The break-in on this puzzle requires two famous tricks on the sudoku. Can you spot them?
Rules:
1. Normal sudoku rules apply.
2. Digits along the two diagonals must not repeat.
3. Digits in cages must sum to the small clue in the top left corner of the cage.
4. Clues outside the grid indicate the digit to be placed in the Nth cell in the corresponding direction, where N is the digit in the first cell in that direction.

Very nice puzzle. One clever trick at the start and the whole thing unravelled beautifully in 10 minutes

Rating a puzzle like this is always tricky. It is both easy and difficult at the same time :)
Either way, I did indeed pick up what you put down and I thoroughly enjoyed the solve!
