Puzzle #5: Taking the scenic route
Puzzle #6: X-trapolation
This puzzle named “The Omni-Code” is somewhat in the spirit of my Zodiac puzzle Zodiac Project: Cage Decoder as it also relies on letters that are encoding digits. Moreover, it combines the Omnipotent Lines with an anti-knight constraint. Since I find the anti-knight portion quite tricky, I haft left difficulty at 3 stars. Feel free to tell in the comments what you think about it. I wish you happy solving!
- Normal sudoku rules apply, i.e. each row, column and 3x3 region has to contain the digits from 1 to 9 once each.
- Letter clues: Each letter represents a digit from 1 to 9. If a letter appears multiple times in the grid, it always represents the same digit. Distinct letters must represent distinct digits.
- Anti-Knight: Cells a knight's move (in chess) apart may not contain identical digits.
- Omnipotent Lines: The orange lines are so-called Omnipotent Lines, i.e. each pair of adjacent digits on such a line must fulfill either an X, V, white or black Kropki dot clue. In other words, any pair of adjacent digits on a line must sum to 5 or 10, be consecutive or in a 1:2 ratio. (At least one of these constraints must be met, it is allowed that two are fulfilled simultaneously.)
Example: The digit 3 may be adjacent on a line to either a 2 (V or white Kropki dot), a 4 (white Kropki dot), a 6 (black Kropki dot) or a 7 (X).

For me the hardest together with #6. There are some very tricky knight ideas going on. Very rewarding but a lot of work for me. Thx for the series. Had lots of fun solving all (so far?)

Thank you for your comment, wuc! And also thank you for being such a loyal solver of the series so far. :)
Momentarily, I plan to have two more entries for the series.
I am glad that you liked this puzzle. In my opinion, #5 (the loop-drawing) and #8 (the newest edition with counting circles) are a little harder than this. But the anti-knight of course makes it into a different kind of challenge. Thank you for sharing your thoughts on the puzzle and the series.
Kind regards, sujoyku

Very nice puzzle! The anti-knight portion certainly is tricky, but it's fair and very satisfying!

Thank you for your comment, SamuPiano! Arguably, it is more of an anti-knight than an omnipotent lines puzzle. Anyhow, I am glad that you enjoyed it.

Very fun and interesting puzzle. A little bit of decoding followed by a great, and very tricky anti-knight sudoku! Well done, and thanks for setting!

Thank you for your comment, meggen033! I am glad that you liked the puzzle. You are of course right with your observation: This is a puzzle where the solve splits into different phases of which I thought the anti-knight phase was the most challenging.
Kind regards, sujoyku
