Dinos Day Out

(Published on 18. August 2024, 14:35 by Ratfinkz)

Dinos Day Out Inspired by Jojos Dino train I created my first Graphic sudoku! Constraints used are Kropkis (black and white), German Whispers, Killer Cages and Thermos.

  • Normal Sudoku rules apply.
  • Place the digits 1-9 once each in every row column and box.
  • Digits in cages sum to the small number in their top left hand corner.
  • Clouds sit between two cells which contain consecutive values.
  • Dinosaurs mark digits in a 1:2 ratio.
  • The tree trunk is a thermo which increases in value from its roots to its canopy.
  • The tree canopy acts as a German whisper. Consecutive digits along branches must differ by at least 5.
  • Eggs mark the starts and ends of German Whisper lines. Two cells connected by pawprints must contain digits that are at least 5 apart in value. Q

Edit - Thanks Ratfinkz for indicating I noted the wrong cell to exclude from the whispering branch. My comment is accurate now:

R6C1 is NOT on the whispering branch! Refer to the photo in Raetselportal. In Pad it reaches ambiguously far into R6C1.

Great puzzle, honestly so fun.

Fun little puzzle! Would be especially great for beginners, and I loved the theming. One minor point is that it was a little ambiguous (at least viewing the puzzle on CTC) whether the canopy extended into r5c3. The rules do refer to "branches" rather than leaves, but I was momentarily paranoid.

Thanks so much! Hmmm I don't quite know what to do about the branches as they show up differently on different technology!
