Out of Reach (Minmax Quads)

(Published on 26. July 2024, 12:33 by sujoyku)

In this puzzle, I have altered usual quadruples to Minmax Quads. Each quadruple contains exactly two digits that must appear in the four surrounding cells. Additionally, these digits indicate the minimum and the maximum of those four cells. I like to thank all testers on the CTC discord! As always, your feedback is highly appreciated and I wish you happy solving!

- Normal sudoku rules apply, i.e. each row, column and 3x3 box has to contain the digits from 1 to 9 once each.

- Minmax Quads: Digits in a circle must appear in one of the four surrounding cells and either be the lowest or the highest digit in these four cells. (If there is no conflict with other rules, digits around a quad clue may repeat. In particular, the minimum and maximum may appear more than once.)

Very nice and not too hard. IMO more towards 2*, but that might just be me :)

**
Thank you for your comment, Wuschel! I am glad that you liked the puzzle. Concerning the difficulty level: I was torn between 2 and 3 stars. I think it would be fair to give it 2.5 stars. But, of course, the experienced difficulty is subjective by nature. Anyhow, thank you for sharing your thoughts!
