Together, we have learned a lot about zipper lines and set a puzzle exclusively based on this constraint. We like to thank Tsswaggy, MattDdraig, gdc, heliopolix, Shintaro-F-H and Flinty for testing and giving feedback on the puzzle. The estimated difficulty is 3 stars. As always, your comments are much appreciated. We wish you happy solving!
- Normal sudoku rules apply: Place the digits 1 to 9 once each in each row, column, and 3x3 box.
- Zipper lines: Cells on a lavender line at an equal distance to the center, which is marked with a dot, sum to the digit at the center.
Here you can solve the puzzle online:
Solution code: Column 1 from top to bottom (9 digits in total)

Great interactions for a pure Zipper puzzle!
**
Thank you for commenting, antiknight! When egubachu and I started out in the monthly prompt, we had a zipper/arrow hybrid in mind. But somehow it ended up being a pure zipper puzzle. Great to hear that you liked its interactions.

Very well designed. It felt so linear - I just kept following the logic to the next step. But gotta admit watching CtC has helped me look for that "next" step. The math was fun to use, and eliminating digits in columns, rows, cells, was a treat. And the end was a great wrap.

Thank you for your kind words, RedBarchetta! We are glad that you enjoyed the puzzle and found its deductions to be well-telegraphed.

Absolutely exceptional use of zipper lines. The deductions in this are all very fair, yet it keeps you on your toes with surprising new pieces of logic over and over again until the very end. I am sure Simon will love this!

Thank you for your kind comment, gdc! As your puzzle "A bit of a stretch" (highly recommended for everyone who has not yet had the pleasure of solving it!) has been a big inspiration for us, it is great to hear that you liked our puzzle.
