Entanglement

(Published on 23. June 2024, 17:42 by Basil)

This is a pair of puzzles made by Maximus, a friend of mine and me. Both puzzles have a different solution, but the clues are identical with the exception of the given digits. The exact clue types can be determined by combining the information in both puzzles.

They are designed to be played by two players, but if you prefer you could play both puzzles simultaneously on your own. In the rules we will assume two solvers.

Entanglement (A):

Entanglement (B):

Rules:

Place the digits 1-9 once in each row, column and box. XV-Clues sum to 5, 10 or 15. For each individual xv-clue the sum is the same in both puzzles. What this sum is, needs to be determined by the solvers.

Each line is either a renban, a german whispers or an entropic line. Digits on a renban line form a set of distinct consecutive digits. Adjacent digits on a german whispers line differ by at least 5. Any set of three sequential cells along an entropic line must contain a low (123), a middle (456), and a high digit (789). Each line has the same type in both of the puzzles. The type needs to be determined by the solvers.

Below are the links for playing in sudokupad.
Puzzle A
Puzzle B

Solution code: Please enter without any spaces the digits at R8C5 and R8C6 first the ones from puzzle A, then those from puzzle B.

harder than it looks

We had seen some puzzles were both players had the same puzzle, but only half of the clues. We thought it would be more fun to have two different puzzles, which share the clues. This way it can also be fun if you solve them on your own or share screens.
