RAT RUN 2: Tenacity

(Published on 12. June 2024, 09:40 by marty_sears)

Rules:
  • Normal 8x8 sudoku rules apply; fill the grid with the digits 1-8 so that no digit repeats in a row, column, or marked 4x2 box.
  • AIM OF EXPERIMENT: Finkz the rat must reach the cupcake by finding a path through the maze. The path will be a snaking line that passes through the centres of cells, without visiting any cell more than once, crossing itself or passing through any thick maze walls.
  • As well as moving orthogonally, Finkz may move diagonally if there's a 2x2 space in which to do so, but may never pass diagonally through the rounded end / corner of a wall.
  • TEST CONSTRAINT: In this experiment, any two adjacent cells along the correct path must sum to at least ten.

Solution code: Column 7 cells that are on the path, reading downwards

For me this one is a bit harder the first one, but another amazing puzzle!

I'd agree, much easier than the first one but still took a bit of thinking to understand the restrictions of the ruleset.

The maze concept is really fun twist on the familiar sudoku concept and this was a fun one.

This was much easier for me than the first rat maze, and equally adorable and fun ^^

Another absolute stunner! There's not many mad scientists I'd allow to trap me in a maze....but for the beauty of the logic, and the buttercream at the end.... I'll let you!

Thank you

This is even better than the first one. It shows that the bigger grid gives you more freedom to do interesting stuff.

Fantastic series, heavily invested in Finkz, this rat will outsmart us all

This one actually felt a bit easier than the first (not as any kind of diminishment! rather it felt like there was a lot more confidence to the setting of this entry). I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say we're all eagerly awaiting the next one.

Thank you for this fantastic puzzle, marty sears! I have to admit I had to warm up a little for the idea when I tried the first puzzle but now I would not want to miss Finkz maze races. Can't wait for the next parts of the series.

the more the rat gets the cupcake the more hungry it is for more.

That one was harder than the first one but way cooler to solve. Looking forward to the upcoming experiments. Thx.
