Normal Sudoku rules apply.
Hot and Cold Cages: Cages are either hot or cold. Hot cages contain positive values and cold cages contain negative values. Digits may repeat in a cage. It's up to the solver to determine if a cage is hot or cold.
Thermo: Values strictly increase from the bulb end of a thermometer.
V and X: Cells separated by a V must sum to +5 or -5. Cells separated by an X must sum to +10 or -10. Not all Vs or Xs are necessarily given.
Solution code: Row 3 (left to right)

Really unique puzzle that was loads of fun! The negative values carried some neat possibilities and logic. Perfect difficulty! I never felt stuck, but I also never felt like digits were free.

Cool idea, I like this ruleset. A Sudoku with 18 different digits, first time for me to solve. Thanks for setting.

Thanks so much for the kind comments and for so many folks giving this puzzle a go. This is the second puzzle I've ever set and the first I've ever shared publicly.
I've wanted to play with a ruleset like this for some time and I'm glad folks are enjoying the twist.

Adjusted the rule to note "Values" along a thermo must strictly increase. Apologies to the solvers for any confusion.

Great puzzle. It was a bit of a mind twister for me, but I enjoyed it!

Beautiful puzzle! The rules should say that *values* increase along thermos.

Fun rule set, a bit tricky at the beginning to wrap my head around but then it flowed nicely. For me this was more like a 2.5 - 3 difficulty.

Fixed a small typo in the rules.
