Didn't think I'd be able to solve this but flowed very nicely! :)

Amazing how this can only work with a 9 x 9 grid and the digits 1-9 once each!

Solving puzzles like this one really makes you wonder how someone even manages to discover that this pattern works! An absolutely incredible experience all around!

Full blank grid with small rule set. That's incredible.

As someone who's new to variant sudoku, I'm utterly baffled by how setters can come up with such complex puzzles. This is the first time I've seen a grid + ruleset combo that makes me actually consider one day setting puzzles myself. I hadn't heard of the concept of a "discovery" sudoku before, but now I'm just wondering what else is possible. Great work :)

MSDOS: Please do consider it! It is a great creative outlet and you usually learn something along the way! I happened upon the CTC channel in March of this year so I'm quite new as well to solving/setting. Watching their videos was a great place to start for inspiration and learning new (variant) rules for sure. From there, it's "I wonder if there is a way to ..." then you go an find out!

Camaras: You discovered CTC in March and you've already managed to create something this spectacular?! That's incredible — I only found them two weeks ago and didn't start even attempting to solve until this week, so maybe there's hope for me yet haha :)

Really fun - filling a completely empty grid based on a few rules is very satisfying. Thank you for sharing.

I was worried at the start about keeping the first two rules straight in my head, and I did stumble a couple of times (but caught myself!), and I’m so glad I persisted with this wonderful puzzle. Fantastic break-in, it felt great to find.

This was clever, and seemed like magic to create a sudoku solution out of seemingly nothing. Thank you!

I generally dislike miracles due to the tendency for obnoxious rulesets. This is something else entirely. Such elegance!

Thanks so much for the comments everyone, it is much appreciated! It was indeed exciting to discover that this ruleset results in a unique solution. There are some interesting patterns that emerge as well.

Pretty easy sudoku without start digits. Cool!
on 6. June 2024, 13:24 by horseradish1
It is absolutely ridiculous that with such a simple ruleset and an empty grid, there's only one way to solve this. Well done!
