Blue Moon

Standard Sudoku rules apply.

SHADING: In the completed grid, cells containing numbers exactly one greater than an immediate neighbour (diagonal or orthogonal) within their box are shaded (and otherwise unshaded).

YIN YANG: The shaded cells form a single orthogonally connected region, as do the unshaded cells. No 2x2 region is wholly shaded or unshaded.

ARROWS: Values in cells with arrows give the number of shaded cells in the indicated direction. All possible arrows are given.

I have a question, maybe it's dumb but what exactly does "All possible arrows are given" mean?
---Suppose that all of r1c1, r1c2 and r1c3 are determined to be shaded. A consequence of that would be that 3 could not fall in r1c4, because r1c4 would "see" three shaded cells to its left but has no arrow indicating such.

Does that help?

Very satisfying puzzle! Although you can deduce it from the puzzle itself, I would add that the digits in cells with arrows don't count themselves. Cheers!

Wonderfully smooth introduction to this style of your puzzles. Hard to judge how easy it is given I've done a lot of them but this was definitely the most friendly one of these I've done.

very special puzzle! At every stuck point I felt like any more deductions were impossible, until making discoveries that immediately felt obvious.

For cells with multiple arrows, does the value indicate the number of shaded cells in each direction or in both directions combined?
---They indicate the number of shaded cells in each direction.---ATK
