Knightlights

(Published on 7. June 2024, 13:30 by Bearded Fool)

Rules:

Sudoku: Normal sudoku rules apply. The digits 1-9 appear once in each row, column, and 3x3 box.

Knightlights: A cell with a yellow circle contains a digit indicating exactly how my times that same digit appears a chess knight’s move away from that cell. Not all knightlights are necessarily given.

Black dots separate cells that are in a 2:1 ratio. White dots separate cells that are consecutive. An inequality sign between cells points to the smaller digit.

the inequality? used it for the knightlight in c9 pretty much my first digits in the puzzle (after putting 35 options in box one really)... so yeah used it :D
Nice puzzle

Interesting puzzle. I find it funny that the puzzle can be solved either with the inequality or with a V adding to 5 and the only difference is that the grid is reflected in the negative diagonal.

Furthermore, people who mention that inequality is not necessary forget that without it the grid is symmetrical, even if it is used for a very small deduction,

Very nice. Didn't use the inequality sign.
Thank you!

Very nice puzzle, i've not seen a knightlight variant before but I really enjoyed this, thanks! I didn't end up using the inequality symbol, i'm not sure it is needed.

Got sidetracked by forgetting that the v is a <, not a adds-up-to-five, whoops. Very nice, though :).
