Zipping Through the Fog

by Sir Moose

Place the digits 0-8 once each in every row, column, and 3*3 box.

Cells a knight's move apart cannot contain the same digit.

Region Sum Lines: Along each blue line, digits have an equal sum in every box it passes through.

Zipper Lines: Along each purple lines, digits equidistant from the center of the line add up to the digit in the center of the line. The center is marked with a circle.

Fog: Some of the grid is hidden by fog. Entering correct digits will remove fog from surrounding cells.

Maybe this is closer to 2* or maybe I’m improving, but that was great!
The 0 constraint breaks so much usual logic. “Oh this has to be a 6 or above, wait it could be a 3…”

Initially I was stuck with the 0-8 instead of 1-9 my brain kept on insisting on trying to see where the 9 could go.

I’m also not a fan of knights move so I’m in the 3 star camp only due to my brains particulars. I always struggle with knights move constraints. I think it partly the lack of chess in my life and partly the out of sight out of mind instruction. There’s nothing on the board to recall that rule to me so I forget it exists and can’t work out the next move without rereading the rules and discovering I forgot one!

Very nice puzzle! Based on how fast I zipped through it, I'd call it closer to a 2* and would encourage 2* solvers to try it.

Takes time. But worth a solve.

Terrific puzzle. Would peg it closer to 3-star difficulty though.
