Three-Legged Dog (Revisited):
Standard Sudoku rules apply.
SHADING: In the completed grid, cells containing numbers exactly one greater than an immediate neighbour (diagonal or orthogonal) within their box are shaded (and otherwise unshaded).
YIN YANG: The shaded cells form a single orthogonally connected region, as do the unshaded cells. No 2x2 region is wholly shaded or unshaded.
A single shaded cell is given.
I don't know what my thinking was with the puzzle Three-Legged Dog, but in retrospect it seems unnecessarily difficult. Put that down to naivety or simple error. Your guess is as good as mine.
TLDR: this puzzle is a gently reworked version of Three-Legged Dog.
I hope it is both more accessible and more pleasurable than its antecedent. I trust the solver will forgive me for repeating myself.
Solution code: Row 1

It took a while to see some of the nuance but it was very satisfying

Haven't tried the original to compare with but this version was super smooth and fun as is expected from AtK

I found it very cool to solve, and hard enough to give me headaches, despite it being sequential. Made several mistakes along the way but, each one allowed me to learn a new bit of logic inherent to the puzzle itself.
Very great puzzle! Thanks Abdul!

This was something special, it's really cool to see how just moving the given shaded cells around can transform the puzzle.

Thanks atk - really enjoyed it - pleased you reworked one of the two puzzles I wasn’t able to solve, now I’m back to Edge of Reason.
