⚯ Geradeweg-Loop ⚯

(Published on 25. May 2024, 07:14 by ElChiglia)

---- RULES ----

Normal Sudoku rules apply: Fill the grid with digits 1 to 9 appearing once each in every row, column, and 3x3 box.

Geradeweg rules apply: Draw a non-intersecting loop into the grid that connects the centers of some orthogonally adjacent cells. Every cell containing a circle must be visited by the loop and each separate straight line segment that passes through the circle or ends at the circle must have a length (measured from center of first to center of last cell) equal to the digit in the circle. Additionally, the loop acts as an Entropic Line. Any group of three consecutive cells along the loop must contain one low digit (1,2,3), one middle digit (4,5,6), and one high digit (7,8,9). Note, the loop CAN touch itself.
Example:

Kropki Dots: Cells connected by a white dot contain consecutive digits.

I solved this one on only four hours sleep, so I don't know if I can fairly judge difficulty, but i do know this one deserves a very nice rating!

Another nice loop type I haven't heard of before! The example image was extremely helpful in figuring out the rules, and the entropic nature of the loop combined really well with the Geradeweg rules for some cool deductions!

Once I understood the rules, this one fell into place quite easily EXCEPT for one gotcha I ran into with closing the loop, where an earlier incorrect deduction got me stuck for a bit. Quite fun and fast paced.

Very nice! Thanks for sharing.
I was at first confused how to measure lines that are going straight through a circle. But when I noticed that they are simply measured as one line it flowed very well.

hi. thanks! I added a picture to illustrate the lengths of segments.
