Rules:
Normal Sudoku rules apply.
Draw a one-cell-wide loop in the grid that does not branch or touch itself, not even diagonally. The loop acts as a German Whispers line (i.e., adjacent digits on the loop must have a difference of at least 5).
Outside clues are loop sandwich clues: they give the sum of all digits on the loop between the 1 and 9 in that row/column.
Solution code: Digits on the loop in row 3 (left to right) followed by digits on the loop in row 7 (left to right)

Getting started felt impossible even with my initial insights, but eventually it all clicked. The final sprint to finish came on surprisingly suddenly.

Brutal breakin but after that everything flowed beautifully smooth.

First this felt almost impossible, but after understanding the break-in it was surprisingly smooth and approachable. Super clever and fun, thank you!

The good news is this solve is sensational and surprising.
The bad news is you put worms on my sandwich and if I wind up with parasites I'm sending you a bill. :P

Awesome! I love the twist that sandwich clues only apply to the loop. Fascinating/fun learnings throughout
