Half the Digits (Killer)

(Published on 24. May 2024, 18:06 by Cane_Puzzles)

Minimal killer with only the digits 0-4 used in the sums.

Rules:

1) Classic Sudoku rules apply:
Place a digit 1-9 into each cell of the grid. None of the rows, columns or boldly outlined 3x3 boxes contain repeated digits.

2) Killer Sudoku rules apply:
If a number is given at the left corner of a cage, the digits in the cage sum to that number. Digits cannot repeat in a cage.

Very clever construction. Hard break in but very rewarding. Thx for setting and sharing.

Did a pure killer after a long time, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Very nice use of grid geometry. Thanks, @ Cane_Puzzles :).

I rarely manage to complete hard pure killer sudokus, but this was well worth it. Amazingly well set.

Cool break-in but tough mid-solve

Such great interactions all throughout the grid. And that was the most polite ending message I've ever seen, how could I not oblige?

Excellent construction. Break in was lovely and each cage was perfectly placed for a smooth logical solve. Well done and thank you for sharing.

Very cool puzzle. Mid-solve was a bit harder than I expected from the break-in which felt quite free.

Lovely puzzle with skillful use of cage geometry

That was so fun to solve, and exactly the right difficulty for my skill level (between 3-4, but not quite 4).

Really great logic and interactions, up until the end. Thanks for setting&sharing!

Fantastic puzzle. So many things interacted in so many ways.
But having said that, I have a genuine question to may of the cool setters here - What is the point of painful 18-digit solution codes? It's not that people are going to cheat and get some prize. I've even seen 18-digit codes in fog of war puzzles where one can anyway cheat if they want.

Very fascinating puzzle throughout, especially the breakthrough around those 13 cages! I found it quite harder than casual 3* actually. (maybe 3.4* ? xD)

It's so nice to see simple and interesting plain killer sudoku puzzles.
Thank you so much Cane_Puzzles.
