Another Murder Mystery

Sherdoku Holmes we need you again! A new numeral killer is on the loose and we need your help to solve who the killer is.

Place all the digits 0-9 in each row, column, and box but one digit in each was murdered and will not fit. The victims vary and can even be the same value as the killer.

Box 1 The Library - German Whispers: adjacent digits must be at least 5 apart.

Box 3 Pool Room - Quadruples: digits in the small circle must appear in one of the surrounding cells.

Box 5 Game Room - Arrows: Digits along the arrow must add up to the digit in the attached circle.

Box 7 The Office - XV: Digits separated by a X must add to 10, and digits separated by a V must add to 5.

Box 9 The Gym - Renban: Digits along the purple lines are consecutive in some order.

Box 2,4,6,8 Hallways - Odd/Even and Palindrome: Digits in a circle must be odd, digits in a box must be even, and digits along the grey line read the same forward and backwards. For this puzzle 0 is considered even.

Secrect Passages - Little Killer: digits along the indicated diagonal add to the value provided.

As before, you will find one last cell where the killer takes his last victim, know this: the killer left a note saying “There is nothing to be added to my life therefore I kill those who can take from me.”

I love this series, including the final riddles! I'd be excited to see Sherdoku take on a more challenging case sometime

Dont agree and dont understand how people can say that murder mystery is not logic.... that was very clear and approachable... better to solve it by yourself than watching painful Sleuth video i think...

This antropomorphisation of digits is offending, numbers are not murderers. Nice puzzle otherwise.

~~

Clearly you haven’t heard why 6 was afraid of 7, because 7, 8 (ate), 9. Nor have you watched the “Numberblocks” or “Number Factory”. Anthropomorphized digits have a very real history, and it stands to reason that some of them go bad.

Lovely puzzle. Got stuck then it all unravelled

~~
Glad to hear you got it unravelled. I always have mixed feelings about people getting stuck, because I never know if that is a good thing or not. :)

I absolutely loved this. Such an intriguing cocktail of different rulesets.

I also didn't realize the 0 is even notion and messed up couple of times. Once I actually googled it, I realized it is also stated in the rules.

What comes to the riddle, I didn't mind it as it wasn't too difficult. I could see an issue if it was something that would require more experience with riddles.

~~
Happy to learn you liked it!!

This is NOT a logic puzzle if there is a riddle element! This should have the "Mystery" tag because the puzzle isn't solvable purely logically

~~
Does that mean you do or don’t like it?
Also, riddles are actually logic puzzles they just do not use formal logic that can be easily expresses into an equation. Riddles rely on informal logic utilizing various other properties of logic that include critical thinking, abductive reasoning, inductive reasoning, inference, and others.
But your point is taken, in the sudoku formal logic world this is not the expectation.

Very nice puzzle. Smooth solve without feeling too breezy. I liked the riddle for the final cell, but I could see it being an issue for people with a language barrier.

~~
Always glad when people like the puzzles.
The language barrier is my top concern for doing the little riddle. I have debated back and forth about the little riddles, but having a few puzzles out there with this kind of riddle verses all of the other puzzles that don't can be a nice little change.

This was super fun! I like the little riddle at the end to disambiguate.

In my head I wasn't thinking of 0 as an even number for Square cells, so got stuck a couple of times before reading the clues more carefully.

Also, there is a clue for "marked diagonal", but there isn't any so presumably a small copy + paste error?

~~
Thank you for pointing that out. I reread the rules 5 times and still missed that. :)

I like having a little riddle to find the last killer cell.

To all solvers: Do you like haveing the final cell to be resolved with a written clue to identify the killer, or do you just want the puzzle to resolve?
Please let me know your feedback for future puzzles.
