• Box 1-5-9: Each digit in box 1 indexes the 1 in that digit’s box in its corresponding box position. The same rule applies to box 5 digits indexing 5 in that digit’s box and corresponding position, and box 9 digits indexing 9 in that digit’s box and corresponding position (i.e if R3C1=6 then R6C7=1, if R4C6=7 then R7C3=5, and if R8C8=3 then R2C8=9).
• Digits in a cage do not repeat and sum to the clue in the top left.

Excellent puzzle. Since you asked, in addition to the seminal 2022 Zegres puzzle referenced below, there is another inter box indexing puzzle by Noswald titled Killer Box Index, published on April 11 of this year.

Even though one is familiar with the regular 1-5-9 logic it took some time to rewire the brain to think about boxes. But once you get a hang of it - then it is still a lovely 1-5-9 variant. There were a lot of odd but nice combinations and quite a lot of "aha" moments. As already said by others... really nice execution and a lovely twist on this variant. Thanks!

Great ruleset and execution! It took me a fair bit of time to wrap my head, but once I did, the solve became very smooth!
