Play on SudokuPad

Normal 6x6 sudoku rules apply.

Yin Yang: Shade some cells such that all shaded cells form one orthogonally connected area, as do all unshaded cells, and no 2x2 area is entirely shaded or unshaded.

Counting Yin Yang: A digit in a shaded cell shows how many times that digit appears in shaded cells.

Quadruples: A digit in a circle must appear in the surrounding 4 cells. If a digit appears twice in a circle, it must appear twice in the surrounding 4 cells.

Solution code: Row 5 left to right: digits, then shaded (S) or unshaded (U). For example, 123456SSUSUU

Yin Yang Sudoku Mashups are my favorite combination. Took a while to find the right questions to ask. Challenging but fair.

Wonderful, elegant! It got my mind thinking in new ways, as only the very best puzzles do.

This happens extremely rarely, but I'm rating this puzzle as being easier than everybody else says. You need to know some of the standard tricks for approaching yin yang puzzles, and there are a few unconventional leaps of logic, but mostly this is a gradual exploration of a very beautiful idea. Very nice to solve.

Nice. thanks

This was spectacular. Some very fun early insights to spot, and then the logic carries on all the way through, until the quads, shading and counting are still all working together nicely at the end to resolve the last deadly patterns. Expertly chosen quad clues (stunning symmetry too), leading to what I would say is the perfect execution of this idea

This gave me the feeling that all of my favorite puzzles do: a sense of impossibility followed by that flash of insight. Really elegant solve path.

I laughed out loud at ViKingPrime's comment. It described my experience precisely, as I DID jump right in and broke it twice before "contemplating the nature of existence" for a while.

A classic ThePedallingPianist puzzle, where you must refrain from diving in and instead contemplate the nature of existence for ten minutes before all becomes clear.

I don't know how he does it, but he does it very well.

Beautifully done. Took forever to figure out the break-in, but once I had, the puzzle flowed very smoothly.
