The triangle is a valve.
Flows flow from bulbs, through valves, to tips.
(O) Bulbs ≤ Valves ≤ Tips ( I )
Valves vent. Valves determine flow.
Valves act as tips to bulbs, and as bulbs to tips (that are unseen by bulbs.)
Please also note the double tip on the bone.

Changed the display puzzle and link, reverted to an older version of the same puzzle that has a valve in it. Added the rules for the valve. Solution code is the same. And may I apologise for the head scratching caused by the previous 3/4 deadly pattern, a fine example of a last moment change gone wrong. Lesson learnt, I hope.
