Schrödinger 302: Schrödinger's Octopus
(Published on 5. May 2024, 11:45 by ViKingPrime)
PUZZLE:
RULES:
"Normal"
Schrödinger and
abnormal Octopus rules apply
...hereafter referred to as 'Squidönger' Cells.
(
i.e. place the digits 0 through 9 once each in every row, column and box;
two of the digits will have to share a Squidönger Cell;
each row, column and box contains exactly one Squidönger Cell;
the value of a cell is the sum of the digits it contains).
(
i.e. draw 4 lines that must not cross or overlap anywhere except R5C5, where they all intersect;
pass through R5C5 in a straight line, otherwise are free to meander as they see fit, no symmetry required;
visit exactly 2 cells on the edge of the grid, which are the beginning and end of the line;
all be the same length, per no. of cells passed through).
There are 4 different lines:
•
Region Sum - box borders divide the line into segments with the same sum;
•
Renban - values along the line form a set of consecutive, non-repeating values in any order;
•
Nabner - values along the line form a set of non-consecutive, non-repeating values in any order
(e.g. if a cell of value 3 appears on the line, then values of 2 and 4 cannot appear);
•
German Whisper: adjacent values along the line must differ by at least five [5].
In addition, white dots separate two cells of consecutive value and black dots separate two cells where one is double the value of the other [1:2];
digits within a cage must sum to the number in the top-left corner and must not repeat.
INTRODUCTION:
Setting this puzzle almost broke me... I hope all the hardwork shines through though, as I hear it's a lot more enjoyable to solve.

Very nice puzzle. Had to immediately solve this when I saw it features octopus rules, S-cells and nabner lines. Quite challenging but also very fair.

Probably my favorite of your puzzles so far. That was absolutely remarkable.
