Thank you for the kind and constructive comments! @dingledork Yes I agree - unfortunately I don't know how to/if I can change it on sudokupad now it is published? I'll look into it!

You might consider replacing the words “proceeded by” with “followed by” in the rules.

I initially assumed “proceeded” was a misspelling of “preceded”, as “proceeded” is not normally used in this way.

Very clever idea and nice execution! thanks for sharing with us.

That was a fun puzzle! The clockwise path yields some interesting deductions about how the path needs 9's to not strangle itself. It is easier than what you suggested though, it took me under 10 minutes, so I would put this puzzle in 2 star difficulty range.

I got stuck quite quickly because I'd interpreted the instructions the wrong way round. But once I figured that out everything flowed smoothly with a nicely laid out path. Straightforward but enjoyable.

This is my first puzzle so apologies for not adding much of a preamble. I've always enjoyed Escher's art so thought it would be fun to create a puzzle around it. I'd appreciate comments from experienced puzzle solvers and setters; it was fun to make although I'm sure I have much to learn :)
