Parroty Lines

Was an absolute pleasure to work on this silly idea with the brilliant Michael Lefkowitz (AKA Juggler.)
If you are encountering problems with the parrots displaying properly, please make sure you have 'background images' enabled in your Sudokupad settings.
Rules:
- Normal sudoku rules apply.
- PARROTY LINES - A 'word' is a non-repeating sequence of digits, like '365', '24', or '7' (but not '747'). Each white Parroty Line consists of one or more copies of the same word. The digit on a parrot indicates the length of the word the parrot is saying. (Example: a parrot with a 3 could be saying “486 486”).
- CAGES - Digits in a cage sum to the attached tag.

This was absolutely lovely! I had gotten stuck very early on and had racked by brain following so many trails of logic, only to realize I had missed something that was not nearly so obfuscated.
Thankfully, the paths of logic I had already been considering were of great help in completing the solve from there.
Had an absolute blast with this one. Thank you both so much for the extraordinary puzzle!

What an adorable idea! I absolutely love birds, especially parrots and their relatives, so this was super fun. Lots of really cool logic. If Simon plays this, I can imagine him entitling his video something like "There Are BIRDS In My Sudoku!" Marty, I always enjoy your silly little original and super creative Sudoku ideas. It certainly keeps things very interesting :))

I'm going to assume everyone else was dumfounded into silence, with how incredibly clever this puzzle is... fun conceit, a few tricky spots followed by those "oh of course!" moments. An absolute work of art, in every sense.
