Normal Sudoku rules apply.
Any sequence of five cells along the line must contain a run of five consecutive digits in any order without repeats.
Cells separated by a black dot have a ratio of 2:1. Not all dots are given.

I'm always a fan of using letters instead of digits when you don't know what direction you are starting with, and doing that here lead to a breezy gem of a puzzle.

Placeholder digits are a great fit here. I hope that doesn't count as a spoiler, but I think this is a good opportunity for solvers to try out the technique

Fascinating, brain-bending fun! I had several false starts before I figured out a somewhat efficient coloring/pencilmarking system.

for a puzzle of this nature, where you have exactly ONE sequence OR exactly the OTHER sequence, with the disambiguation happening far in the future, the most difficult part is creating an efficient labeling system. standard pencil marking is inappropriate here.
