⊕ Deconstructed-RSL-Loop ⊕

(Published on 20. April 2024, 07:15 by ElChiglia)

---- RULES ----

Normal Deconstruction rules apply: Place nine non-overlapping 3x3 regions into the grid, such that each region contains the digits 1-9 once each and no digit repeats in any row or column. Cells outside regions do not contain digits.

Region Sum Loop: Draw a single 1-cell-wide loop of orthogonally connected cells into the grid that visits every 3x3 box at least once and does not enter any empty cells. Different loop segments cannot touch, not even diagonally. The loop acts as a Region Sum Line. Numbers on a Region Sum Line have the same sum in each 3x3 box the line passes through. If a line passes through a 3x3 box multiple times, each individual segment sums separately.

Little Killers: A clue outside the grid is the sum of the digits along the indicated diagonal.

Wow, this was lovely, with a variety of deductions to make to solve it. I thought the region-finding moved nicely and pretty quickly along, so i wasn't prepared for the jump in difficulty when that was completed. Very fun!

Great puzzle. The constraints worked together quite well, it felt so natural.

Wow, another wonderful loop variation. When I saw the grid I thought this is going to be brutal, but the beginning is quite approachable if you're familiar with deconstruction. Then it gets quite hard but is always fair. Thanks!
