Joyful Moments #1: Spring Breeze (Nala’s Adventures #19)

(Published on 19. April 2024, 13:07 by SandraNala)

Spring Breeze is part of a new sudoku pack that features Nala’s adventures themed around spring which I called: Joyful Moments. It’s the first puzzle in a series of 5 that I will post each Friday. If you don’t want to wait, you can download the pack and solve them all now! Some of you may already have seen the pack over on the ctc Patreon free content, but hopefully it will be new for lots of you!

Spring Breeze

The temperature is still somewhat unpredictable and sudden gusts of wind send digits (among other things) flying unexpectedly, but it’s undeniable that spring is right around the corner!

Come and explore the early signs of spring with Nala. What will you find?

Normal sudoku rules apply. Place the digits 1-9 in every row, column and 3x3 box exactly once each.

The grid is partially covered in fog. Entering correct digits will clear the fog from surrounding cells, possibly revealing more clues.

If an arrow is present in a cell, the digit in the cell next to the arrows base appears in the grid in the direction of the arrow at a distance of N cells, where N is the digit in the arrow’s cell.

Example: If R3C4 had an arrow pointing to the left and R3C4 was a 3, then the digit below that arrow (R4C4) would appear in R3C1 again.

All lines in this puzzle are thermo lines. Along those lines, digits strictly increase starting from one end of the line. The direction has to be determined by the solver. The lines do not branch. Each line has its own color and lines of the same color are connected.

Thank you for this fun FOW puzzle, SandraNala! It also was a great opportunity for me to become more familiar with the slingshot constraint.

Sandra and Nala puzzles are my favorites. They have this special beauty: the solve path is always smooth, and the puzzle story is always supported by some beautiful details and thoughts that are revealed during the solve.

When in other puzzles I hope clearing fog will reveal a clue - with Sandra and Nala puzzles, I feel true joy when there's often much more.

Thank you very much.

Sandra hier! Das war ja dann super Timing! Freut mich :)
