Friend Circles
(Published on 12. April 2024, 07:12 by Calesch)
Rules:
Normal sudoku rules apply: place each of the digits 1-9 in every row, column, and box.
A cell is 'friendly' if it contains its row, column, or box number.
Rows are numbered 1-9 top to bottom, columns are 1-9 left to right, and boxes are 1-9 row by row, top to bottom, left to right.
The digit in a circle indicates how many of the 9 surrounding cells (counting itself) are friendly.
Opposite edges of the grid are considered to be adjacent, so every circle is counting exactly 9 cells.
For example, the row 9 cells from columns 5-7 are all counted by the circle in r1c6.
Each of the digits 1-9 appears in a circle. Not all possible valid circle clues are necessarily given.
Solution code: Column 6

Very nice ruleset and surprising that this gives enough information to fill the grid. Thx for setting.
