This is a Yajilin combined with Vertigo - a genre invented by endagorion. I set a similar puzzle as a gift for him during a Secret Santa event last Christmas.
Rules:
Shade some cells so that no two shaded cells are orthogonally adjacent. Clues cannot be shaded, and represent the number of shaded cells in a straight line in the indicated direction.
Draw a single loop travelling orthogonally through the centers of all empty cells. The loop may visit some cells twice, but must travel straight through such cells each time. The loop can not otherwise self-overlap or self-intersect. While travelling along the loop, all 90 degree turns must have the same direction (all left or all right).
Solution code: For each row, from top to bottom, the number of cells in which the loop crosses itself.

Finally did it! For some reason, the hardest part of this puzzle for me was realizing it was a vertigo and not a plain old sloop. xD
Fun logic, and I’m excited to try the sequel!

Super cool constraint! It wasn't immediately obvious why endagorion named it "vertigo", but I quickly discovered that the name is very apt.
This puzzle isn't too difficult once you understand how the ruleset works. Looking forward to #2!

Fun puzzle!
Don't really have much experience with either genre, but this was fun to solve. Took a little while to get used to how the ruleset worked and restricted things, but it wasn't too hard once I got used to it.

Awesome puzzle! Hard to think about at first but the rules gradually start to click. Very cool ending too!

Learned a lot in this puzzle - notably in some places I didn't think I still had much to learn in

Thanks for the lovely comments! If anyone wants to try some pure vertigo puzzles, endagorion is posting some on his blog (link in the intro). Recommended!

Very nice, this puzzle definitely challenges your loop intuition, well done!

Awesome ruleset and puzzle !
It is easy to make mistakes because you really have to reconsider every automatic deduction that comes from previous yajilin experience, but it's really worth the effort. That ending feels so miraculous !! Thanks :)

I really enjoyed this one! I hadn't come across the vertigo rule before, but it offered some very interesting logic when combined with yajilin. Thank you very much!

Two incredible loop genres, and an awesome puzzle in its own right too. I loved the break-in! And really smooth and fun logic followed from that all the way until the end. Thanks!
I put in the wrong solution code at first, then realized I needed to include the first and last rows.
