Cracking the Cryptic video

I promise that this puzzle has a unique valid solution. No guessing is required if you adhere to the rules.

Play on SudokuPad

- Normal 6x6 sudoku rules apply.
- Each digit in a circle indicates how many times that digit appears in a circle in the puzzle.
- Digits strictly never appear more than once in a cage.
- Cells separated by an X sum to 10. Not all possible Xs are given!
- The grey lines are palindromes, i.e. digits equidistant from a grey line's center are always the same.
- Those are all the rules. Do not forget any of them.

Delightfully devilish! That last pair really had me tripped up for a while, but always so helpful to read the rules!

I get it, but I didn't really like it...

This feels like a pun in puzzle form.

This is a very unique puzzle that could be solved easier by a person who has never solved variant sudoku before than an expert at 6x6 variant sudoku.

When starting the puzzle, I literally said "uhhhh, what?" out loud and realized it was the puzzle name. I laughed so much it costed me a minute of my solving time. Well played, Mr. Lefkowitz. Well played.

The „what?“-effect at the end is the best. Loved it. Thanks.

What a wonderful puzzle, even before I finish solving it! The rules are very clear, and you realize exactly what they do with this puzzle as you solve it! Amazing already before solving to be sure!
Edit: I've now finished solving, and man what a wonderful puzzle. I don't normally do 6x6 sudokus, but I am definitely glad I did this one. Every word of every rule definitely matters, even down to the final few digits! Even though that made it more of a 3* puzzle to me, still very doable once you fully understand what each rule really means. Thanks for setting!

Very funny - really enjoyed that! I was almost all the way through before realizing I hadn't read the rules *quite* closely enough. Backed it up and then had an enjoyable end to the solve.

Great tricky puzzle. Although I got stuck, it was still enjoyable.

Very fun, if a bit annoying due to the nonstandard rules! Be sure to read the rules closely and interpret them strictly.

on 6. April 2024, 22:58 by Ulyssyphus
I had to restart at least twice because I couldn't believe I was stuck. Very annoyingly enjoyable!
