London Calling (1979)

(Published on 3. April 2024, 17:28 by olliwright)

This puzzle was inspired by the cover of The Clash's 1979 album "London Calling". The cover shows a photograph of band member Paul Simonon venting his frustration by smashing his bass on stage.

Normal sudoku rules apply. Place the digits 1-9 once each in every row, column and 3x3 box.

  • Killer cages: Digits in a cage cannot repeat and must sum to the total in the top left corner.
  • Kropki dots: Digits separated by a white dot have a difference of one. Not all dots are given.
  • Renban: Cells along a purple line consist of a consecutive sequence of non-repeating digits, in any order.
  • German whispers: Adjacent digits along a green line must have a difference of at least 5.
  • Thermometer: Digits along a thick grey line increase from the bulb to the tip.
  • Fortress: Digits within shaded cells with arrows facing outward must be greater than all of their orthogonally connected unshaded neighbors.

good puzzle, it is smooth but only at the end. Start takes some time. 23.24 for me

using "smooth" to describe the solution flow here is literally correct. BUT it's NOT for beginners
