☯ Yin-Yang-Loop ☯

(Published on 1. April 2024, 00:17 by ElChiglia)

---- RULES ----

Normal Sudoku rules apply: Fill the grid with digits 1 to 9 appearing once each in every row, column, and 3x3 box.

Yin Yang: Shade some cells such that all shaded cells are orthogonally connected and all unshaded cells are orthogonally connected. No 2x2 area may be entirely shaded or entirely unshaded.

RSL Loop: Draw a single 1-cell-wide loop of orthogonally connected cells through some of the unshaded cells. The loop acts as a Region Sum Line. Numbers on a Region Sum Line have the same sum in each 3x3 box the line passes through. If a line passes through a 3x3 box multiple times, each individual segment sums separately.

Parity Island: If two shaded cells share an edge they must have opposite parity.

Kropki dots: Cells connected by a white dot contain consecutive digits. Furthermore, one of the cells is shaded while the other one is unshaded.

That was really beautiful logic steps for the break-in, thank you very much for the puzzle.

"Draw a single 1-cell-wide loop of orthogonally connected cells through some of the unshaded cells." Does this mean that the loop can't enter any shaded cells?
----
Hi, yes, the loop can only enter unshaded cells.

I was able to understand the break in concepts, and even after that still found the next steps quite tricky! The logic to get that far is brilliant though

Another very nice loop puzzle! This one was closer to 4 stars for me based on the opening, but once I made a couple of key deductions, everything flowed amazingly well!

This is one of my favourites in the series, fantastic! The logic is very beautiful, not super hard, but there was quite a lot of work to do, so it's 4 stars for me. Thank you for setting!

I feel like I must have missed something because this break in was waaaaay harder than I expected for a three star puzzle. The way that the parity island worked with the yin yang was very satisfying though. All in all a really good puzzle that I just wish I could've wrapped my head around a bit better.
----
Hey, thanks for solving the puzzle. I will write in a hidden comment the steps of the break-in. Maybe you can let me know which one made it harder than 3 stars for you.
