Hmm...?????? (Fog of War 6x6)

(Published on 31. March 2024, 15:50 by KMD)

Hello, Kennet's Dad here. This puzzle has been featured by Sudoku Sleuth. Watch his solve here.

Additionally, I've made much more difficult puzzles with this new line constraint: Try one here. And another.

Rules:

  • Normal sudoku rules apply.
  • The grid is partially covered in fog; placing a correct digit will remove the fog surrounding that digit.
  • Box borders divide lines into segments with different sums, where one sum will be double the other.
  • Digits in cells joined by a V sum to 5.

Solve using Sven's Sudokupad

Solution code: row 6, left to right

What a fun puzzle. I misunderstood the rule slightly first, but afte re-reading it, it was a piece of cake to find the opening.

This was a really neat sudoku – Simple and manageable while retaining some really nice logic! Not an easy combination to strike. Thanks!

Took a minute or two look at the red lines to understand the rules, but once I got one digit, made a lot of sense

Rules were a little difficult to understand at first.

I don't know why it took me so long to have the rules click, but once they did it was a very enjoyable puzzle! Thanks for sharing!

Really nice ruleset. It took my a while to figure the break in, was very smoth after that. Lovely!

I liked the deduction in box 2 and 4, felt nice!

I really like the way the rules works. I will say it took me way too long to see how to break in. I then forgot the fact that one is double the other so stared at box 6 very confused.

Fun and interesting constraint. Less difficult to handle when one remembers the size of the grid!
