A Few Glasses O' Bubbly

(Published on 29. March 2024, 04:32 by HalfBakedLunatic)

I had originally submitted this to CTC for inclusion in the "Line App" collection, so I didn't post it here on LMG ... but Mark Goodliffe was kind enough to feature this on the YouTube channel instead - so it's now for public use instead of the paid app!

Because it was meant to be for the cell phone app, I did add some additional digits and filled out the quads so it's not as brutally hard as my original revision, and I added a few extra 'bubbles' in the glasses just for the cosmetic effect (which also made it a bit easier).

The Rules:
• Normal Sudoku Rules Apply
• Digits along a Green Champagne Flute must differ by at least 5
• Digits along an Orange Champagne Flute Line must differ by at least 4
• Box borders divide the Blue Champagne Flute into segments with the same sum
• The Purple base of the glasses must be a contiguous set of digits in any order
• Cells separated by a Champagne bubble must contain adjacent digits
• Quad circles show the digits that are in the four cells

Very cool puzzle, but I'm not sure if I've ever been less sure about my solve during the puzzle as I was here. Somehow my deductions "felt" correct but I was convinced it was gonna fail at some. point. :)

I really liked the break in as it required a combination of so many clues (for me at least). In the end 2-2,5 sounds about right (on LMD standards).

Disagree with Criptonight, this is definitely a 2... 2.5 at most. Lots of restrictions to work with. Excellent puzzle

Such a delightful work of art. Certainly harder than 2 stars, 3.5 to 4 at least.

Very nice puzzle, the constraints worked really well together, I really enjoyed how the renbans worked. Didn't use the region sum lines at all though, but it's never a bad thing to give solvers multiple possible solve paths :)

--- @gUBBLOR, my initial version didn't have all digits filled in the quads and it was quite a bit harder, and did require more stringent use of the Region Sum Line. I had 'simplified' the puzzle somewhat because it was intended to go into the CTC cell phone app - but in my testing, I had gotten so used to my same solution path that I didn't even think about trying it without using the blue line!
