Copycat

(Published on 28. March 2024, 19:37 by Phistomefel)

This Sudoku contains a new rule element (to the best of my knowledge) stating that the two lines in the grid have the same composition of digits. Here are the rules:
  1. Sudoku: Write each digit from 1 to 9 into exactly one cell in every row, every column and every 3x3 box.
  2. Lines: The grey line is a palindrome, the lavender line is a Zipper line.
  3. Copycat: The two lines have the same composition of digits. E.g. if one line has two 3s, five 4s and a 9, then so does the other. The order of the digits is not necessarily the same on the two lines.
  4. Kropki: A white dot between two cells indicates that their values differ by 1. A black dot between two cells indicates that their values are in a 2:1 ratio. Not necessarily all dots are drawn in.
  5. Palindrome line: The digits on a palindrome line read the same in both directions.
  6. Zipper line: Digits an equal distance from the center of a zipper line must sum to the digit in the middle of that line.
The puzzle is also available online via CTC-App. Have fun solving!

Absolut brilliant! Definitiv keine 3 Sterne für mich, alleine den genialen Break-in zu finden hat mich eine Dreiviertelstunde gekostet. Aber jede Minute war es wert, der wunderbaren Logik zu folgen. Vielen Dank!

Any day is a good day when there is a Phistomefel puzzle in front of you. And this one is definitely the cat's meow.

Another masterful puzzle from the master. Another idea that makes variant sudoku a joy. This has similarities with a recent puzzle by Marty which was also a joy to solve. Thank you Phistomefel for returning with some brilliant ideas.

This puzzle is elegant and adorable, just like the copycat who sat in my lap while I solved it. :)

Phistomefel is clearly trying to outpace Simon's solving with his setting - and winning so far. :D

Beautiful puzzle. Far more approachable than what it appeared at first glance.
(And my usual angst with 18-digit solution codes)

Superb puzzle! Challenging but fun with a great flow after the break-in. The copycat logic was fascinating, I feel like one could craft a much more sinister and brutal puzzle with this rule ;)
