(Published on 25. March 2024, 22:21 by HalfBakedLunatic)

This is a Knightmare you'll probably remember!

The Rules:
• Normal Sudoku Rules Apply
• Digits in a cage must sum to the number in the corner of the cage
• Cells separated by Black dots must in a 2:1 ratio, white dots must be consecutive digits
• Knightmare rules apply - digits a 'knights move' apart can not sum to 5 or 15

Great puzzle. I need to read rules. In this case I saw “knight” and assumed knight move constraint and wasted a lot of time.

I was so proud of myself for solving this!
Unique puzzle with lots of attention required to solve it.

Thanks for the puzzle!

added shading to killer cages, just for cosmetic purposes

Thank you everyone for the great comments! I had been working on a different (totally unrelated) puzzle a few weeks prior and I spotted an interesting pattern. I took a screen snip and set it aside, and then went back and worked that idea into this puzzle. It came out even better than I was even expecting and I'm happy everyone is enjoying it :-)

Nice one, thanks, quite tricky to scan I find.

I really enjoyed my time with this puzzle. I’m a big fan of knight move constraints, which seemed to both help and hinder my process as I kept wanting to make inaccurate deductions based on my expectations. This constraint got me out of leaning on old knowledge and really made me think outside of the box. Sometimes I had to think out of the box within the box! Would definitely recommend this to anyone interested in fresh logic with the knights move.

Beautiful construction! Puzzles involving any chess constraint can be tricky to scan, but this was exceptionally smooth from start to finish

Cool puzzle! The Knightmare rules are fun and hard-working. Thanks for sharing.

-- Hey, thank you anyeyeball. I struggled with the construction on this one, very convoluted logic, but I'm very happy with the way it turned out. Glad you liked it!
