6x6 pack (circles, zipper, rellik, chess lines)

(Published on 22. March 2024, 19:08 by gdc)

This is a collection of 6x6 puzzles. Most of them were made for the adventure series (youtube link) but turned out to be too hard for that channel. (adventure puzzles are aimed at beginners.) Thanks to the CtC fan discord and my fellow adventure setters for testing and feedback. The individual puzzles are probably closer to 1 star on average but I'll put the pack in as 2 star because there is some variation and there are 6 of them :).

If you solved all of those puzzles, please let me know in a comment which one was your favorite.

Loved them all, though none especially hard. The chess one became an awful lot easier once I realised the bishop was not a pawn :D

Thank you for this fun pack! My favourite was the chess one, Jazzy Lines.

Fun puzzle pack! My favorite was #3 "As the Knight Unfolds". I didn't find the last two the most challenging, for me it was the middle two. The last one is a nice introduction to chess lines.

I loved them all, it is hard to choose a favorite. I think if I was forced it would be Outer Circles just because of the break in. I like the concept of Jazzy Lines but it was really straightforward to me compared to Outer Circles and the two zipper line ones.

Really tough to pick though because I thoroughly enjoyed them all.

Loved this! Especially loved outer circles, and double framed which might be my favorite 6x6 I've ever done! wonderful job!

Thanks @silent_rob! Rellik cages are a really fun constraint. Glad you found the one in here to be a good introduction.

Thanks for the great puzzles! I enjoyed them all but my favs were Blue Moon and Double Framed - really enjoyed the logic in both. And I've never completed a Rellik puzzle before so it was nice to get a bite-sized one that's super approachable.

Thanks @Sinuit. I deliberately put these two at the end because I thought they are the most challenging. Maybe the chess lines puzzle could've been a separate LMD puzzle even due to the unique ruleset.

Thank you very much for the puzzles. It's hard to choose favorite, all of them are little gems in their on way. Beautiful and tasty logic as always, any puzzle from the pack feels like it has a touch of a master.

Thanks for these really great puzzle snacks!
I liked all of them, so it‘s hard to choose a favorite. I would go with „Outer Circles“ because of the nice break-in. I found the last two „Double Framed“ and „Jazzy Lines“ a bit more challenging than the others with some nice logical steps.

thanks @sujoyku! I wanted to bring rellik cages to the adventure series but it turned out I missed the difficulty mark ever so slightly. Thanks for coming up with that constraint. Also had a lot of fun with them in "smoke and mirrors".

Thank you for this tasty box auf Sudoku snacks, gdc! It was a very nice surprise for me to see a Rellik puzzle in the mix. :) I also very much liked the "Blue moon" puzzle with the circular whisper/region lines. But with the Zipper puzzles it is actually hard to pick my favourite. Thank you for setting and sharing!
