Pointillism (Fillomino)

(Published on 24. February 2024, 11:42 by Chilly)

Decided that the min/max arrow rule set might be useful for a fillomino puzzle. This is the result. Please enjoy.

The Rules:

  • Fillomino: Divide the grid into regions of orthogonally connected cells. Each cell should contain a number equal to the size of its region (i.e. the number of cells in its region). There is no limit on the size of a region, provided that it will fit into the grid and that all other rules are obeyed. No two regions of the same size can be orthoginally adjacent, but such regions may be diagonally adjacent.
  • Arrows: all the cells pointed to by an arrow must contain digits smaller than the digit in the arrow. For example, if r2c6 were a 5, then all of r2c7 to r2c15 must be smaller than 5.

I really enjoyed this! But though Sudokupad says I figured it out, the solution code comes out wrong.

Hi - yes, sorry. I looked and there was a typo - I've corrected it now. Thanks for spotting that :)
